Course Description

Personal data in Singapore is protected under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) which took effect in 2014.

The PDPA establishes a data protection law that comprises various rules governing the collection, use, disclosure and care of personal data by organisations.

This course is divided to 4 parts as follows:

Part 1 – Overview to PDPA

Part 2 – 9 Obligations under the PDPA

Part 3 – Role of Data Protection Officer (DPO)

Part 4 – Managing Data Breaches

This is the final Part 4 of the PDPA Series on how to manage data breaches.

While many people may not have experienced any data breach, it is important to know how to manage data breaches when it occurs. This applies to every employee and time is of the essence to ensure that the breach is contained and to mitigate any losses that may arise.

The PDPC provides useful guidelines which will be covered in this lesson.
